Kentik Appoints Alex Henthorn-Iwane as Vice President of Marketing

SAN FRANCISCO – Sept. 17, 2015 Kentik, provider of the industry’s first cloud-based network visibility and analytics solution, today announced that it has hired Alex Henthorn-Iwane as Vice President of Marketing. Henthorn-Iwane joins the company with more than 20 years of experience bringing new technologies in networking, security and software to global markets. Henthorn-Iwane will lead the global marketing strategy for Kentik and help the company bring its innovative story and solutions to network-dependent organizations around the world

“Alex joins Kentik at an exciting time. We’re experiencing tremendous interest in our Kentik Detect service from networking pros who seek deep visibility across their infrastructures and are fed up with antiquated network management tools,” said Avi Freedman, co-founder and CEO of Kentik. “Alex has a proven track record of planning and implementing marketing strategies that increase both awareness and demand. His deep experience in traffic and routing analytics, and their applications in networking and security, makes Alex the right complement to our executive team.”

Prior to joining Kentik, Henthorn-Iwane was VP of Marketing at QualiSystems, where he oversaw worldwide marketing at the industry’s leading supplier of DevOps cloud orchestration software for hybrid IT infrastructure, and Packet Design Inc., a provider of network management software founded by serial entrepreneur Judy Estrin. Prior to that, he held product management roles at CoSine Communications, Corona Networks, Lucent Technologies and Livingston Enterprises.

“Kentik is comprised of network experts who have successfully tackled the hardest operational intelligence problems at some of the largest web companies in the world, like Akamai, CloudFlare, Netflix and YouTube,” said Henthorn-Iwane. “Kentik is disrupting a status quo that has lagged far behind the transforming reality of cloud and big data. I’m excited to help Kentik connect the power of its solutions to a market that is more than ready for a modern approach to network visibility.”
