Kentik’s new AI diagnostics in the Kentik Network Monitoring System (NMS) close the gap between detection and diagnosis by bringing three capabilities directly into Kentik AI Advisor:

On-Demand Connectivity Tests — AI Advisor automatically runs pings and traceroutes from the vantage points that matter, so reachability, latency, loss, and path behavior are analyzed alongside your telemetry without leaving the investigation.
Config Context: Backups and Diffs — Kentik periodically scrapes running configs over SSH, stores them as backups, and surfaces revisions and diffs inside NMS. AI Advisor can interpret them in natural language, summarize what changed, and flag config drift relevant to the alert at hand.
SSH Command Access for On-Demand Device Diagnostics — AI Advisor can propose, run, and interpret approved, read-only show commands on supported devices. Engineers stay in one investigation thread instead of bouncing to a separate CLI. Strictly read-only, with command controls and user confirmation.
