Kentik Earns Innovation Award at ONUG Fall 2017

SAN FRANCISCO – October 26, 2017 – Kentik, the leader in network traffic intelligence, today announced the company was named a winner of the ONUG Right Stuff Innovation Awards. Recognized in the “Monitoring & Analytics” category, Kentik received its award on stage at the ONUG Fall 2017 conference, a top industry event that brings together business leaders and technology experts from the networking community.

“Enterprise IT organizations adopting SaaS applications and migrating business-critical applications to hybrid multi-cloud environments need real-time insights gained from network and application monitoring. I am impressed by the ability of Kentik’s solution to ingest flow metadata, BGP routes, performance metrics, and other telemetry data to perform rapid multi-dimensional analysis in the company’s hosted big data cluster and provide operators with actionable insights in real-time for assuring the performance and security of networks and applications,” said Stephen Collins, Principal Analyst of ACG Research. Collins served as an ONUG Awards judge alongside Eric Hanselman, Chief Analyst at 451 Research, and Zeus Kerravala, Founder and Principal Analyst of ZK Research.

Over the past year, an ONUG Working Group comprised of enterprise IT leaders, vendors, and cloud and service providers collaborated to compile the strict awards criteria. More than a dozen vendors submitted for the “Monitoring & Analytics” award category by providing a technology demonstration. Kentik’s SaaS-based platform, Kentik Detect, was recognized for key award criteria, including: ease of deployment and use; real-time visibility via a single platform; hybrid and multi-cloud capabilities; and open approach, including powerful APIs.

“As former network operators, my co-founders and I started Kentik because we knew firsthand that traditional network monitoring tools could never keep pace with the growing volume of network data,” said Avi Freedman, Co-founder and CEO of Kentik. “As we continue to innovate on our platform to support more enterprises and service providers with the complexities of managing large networks ― including for greater visibility, scalability, performance, and security ― it’s an honor to be recognized by the community with this award.”
