VP Finance and Administration

Location: San Francisco, CA

Reporting to the CEO, the VP Finance and Administration is responsible for managing the G&A function which includes HR, office operations/facilities, IT, risk management, legal, stock administration, treasury, accounting and finance. As a member of the executive team, the VP Finance and Administration develops the company’s financial management strategy in line with the organization’s strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working with the leadership team, hands on preparation of monthly financial forecasts, semi-annual budgets, cash flow plans and monthly budget versus actual reporting.
  • Develop and maintain key business metrics associated with a SaaS business model
  • Ensure compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements. Maintain an environment of internal controls through appropriate systems of policies, procedures and safeguards.
  • Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; monitor progress and changes and keep leadership abreast of financial status
  • Effectively communicate and present critical financial matters for board of directors’ meetings, investor inquiries, and other external financial communications as appropriate.
  • Understand all key elements of customer contracts that drive revenue recognition and oversee the implementation of ASC 606 in 2019.
  • Ensure systems are in place to properly capture and allocate cost of revenue dollars appropriately
  • Manage the treasury function which includes long term capital planning, securing debt financing and equity fundraising activities
  • Work closely with the revenue leadership team and sales operations to ensure the sales contracting process and commissions structures meet business and accounting needs in an efficient, productive manner
  • Produce internal financial management reports, including key financial metrics and regular program and department reporting, and help manage all internal communications regarding financial results
  • Oversee accounting staff to ensure all accounting related functions are processed on time and accurately.
  • Oversee international financial operations of company subsidiaries, ensuring local country compliance.
  • Lead the internal data gathering for the outsourced annual tax filings for the IRS and other locations where the company operates, as well as the annual audit process.
  • Oversee HR and office operations, risk management, stock administration, and function as liaison with brokers, attorneys, auditors, tax professionals and bankers among others.

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA required, with major in Business, Accounting, or related field, or with corresponding certification(s). CPA or MBA/MPA degree preferred, experience working in a SaaS company
  • 12+ years of experience
  • Well-established accounting, forecasting, budgeting, and financial management skills
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with consistent attention to detail, clarity, and organization
  • Capacity to work effectively, diplomatically, and sensitively with a wide range of constituents, partners, and stakeholders
  • Strong intellectual curiosity, staff management skills, prioritization skills and experience
  • Demonstrated ownership end-to-end over projects and teams.
